Position details

Maintenance duties

• Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on kitchen and mechanical-room equipment; clean and lubricate tools and equipment.
• Inspect tools, equipment, and machinery; locate and operate utility shutoffs when needed.
• Maintain inventory and request parts and supplies; communicate shift updates to other employees.
• Prepare and paint surfaces, make minor wall and woodwork repairs, and replace bulbs and air-conditioning filters.
• Diagnose and perform basic repairs to equipment, plumbing, electrical components, guest-room items, and internet devices.
• Program televisions and perform general engineering, maintenance, and inventory tasks.
• Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before maintenance work; maintain garden areas and outdoor irrigation.
• Use computers for work information and basic building-control tasks, including air schedules and temperature changes.

Required and preferred qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• General maintenance, surface-preparation, and painting experience is desirable; hotel engineering or maintenance experience is valued.
• A high school diploma or equivalent, or vocational/technical training, is preferred.
• No supervisory experience is required.
• Basic knowledge or aptitude to learn HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and building operations is sought.
• Must follow safety procedures, report hazards and incidents, and handle company and guest property responsibly.
• The role includes physical tasks such as lifting or moving objects weighing 50 pounds or less without assistance, climbing, reaching, bending, and carrying.

Workplace

• The role is based at the St. Regis hotel on Palm Jumeirah in Dubai and is not remote.

Service and conduct
