Position

Maintenance and repairs

• Respond to guest repair requests and communicate to resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspect tools, kitchen and mechanical-room equipment; clean and lubricate equipment.
• Operate equipment and building utility shut-off valves; maintain inventory and requisition parts and supplies.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood-trim repair, light-bulb and air-conditioning-filter replacement, and repair-area cleanup.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment, plumbing, electrical components, guestroom items, and internet devices.
• Program televisions; repair landscaping and sprinklers; perform housekeeping and engineering inventory duties.
• Use Lockout/Tagout before maintenance work and enter air-handler schedules or adjust temperatures using a computer.

Required qualification

• A driver’s license is required.

Preferred qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• Some general maintenance and interior or exterior surface preparation and painting experience is preferred.
• Hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.

Relevant systems and work areas

• The role involves air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic and electronic controls, carpentry and finish work, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance.
• Basic computer skills are used for air-handler schedules and temperature changes.

Safety, service, and physical duties

• Follow company, safety, and security procedures; report maintenance problems, hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; store flammable materials properly.
• Welcome guests, anticipate service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, maintain quality standards, and communicate professionally with guests and colleagues.
• Protect confidential information and company assets; maintain a clean, professional appearance and positive working relationships.
• Move items up to 50 pounds without assistance; heavier lifting requires assistance. Work on stairs, ramps, or ladders and perform reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping tasks.
