Engineer I responds to guest repair requests and maintains hotel equipment, guest rooms, and building systems.
Maintenance and repairs
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen and mechanical-room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
- Inspect equipment; operate shut-off valves; maintain maintenance inventories and requisition supplies.
- Prepare and paint surfaces; repair minor drywall and wood trim; replace light bulbs and A/C filters; clean work areas.
- Troubleshoot and make basic repairs to plumbing, electrical components, equipment, appliances, internet devices, and guestroom items.
- Program televisions, repair landscaping and sprinklers, and enter air-handler schedules or temperature changes on a computer.
- Use Lockout/Tagout before maintenance work and communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts.
Required qualification
- A driver’s license is required.
Preferred qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Some general maintenance and surface preparation or painting experience is preferred; hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
Workplace and physical demands
- The role is based at The St. Regis Residence in Doha and is not remote.
- The work involves carrying tools, using stairs, ramps, and ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance; heavier loads require assistance.
Safety and guest service
Follow company, safety, and security procedures; report hazards, accidents, injuries, and maintenance problems; store flammable materials properly.
Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality, protect company assets, meet quality standards, and provide courteous guest service.
