Role and schedule

Maintenance and repairs

• Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen and mechanical-room equipment; clean and lubricate equipment and inspect tools and machines.
• Operate equipment and building utility shut-offs, maintain maintenance inventory, requisition supplies, and hand over daily activity and problems to other shifts.
• Prepare surfaces, paint, make minor drywall and wood-trim repairs, replace light bulbs and A/C filters, and clean work areas.
• Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on equipment, plumbing, electrical components, guestroom items, and internet devices.
• Program televisions and perform general housekeeping and engineering inventory duties.
• Use Lockout/Tagout before maintenance work; repair interior and exterior landscaping and outdoor sprinklers.
• Enter air-handler schedules and make temperature changes using a computer.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• Some general maintenance and interior or exterior surface preparation and painting experience is preferred; hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of, or ability to learn, air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, and general building systems.

Work environment and physical duties

• The role is based at the hotel and is not remote.
• Physical duties include moving objects up to 50 pounds without assistance, using stairs, ramps, and ladders, and reaching, bending, twisting, and stooping.

• Follow company safety and security procedures, report maintenance problems, hazards, accidents, and injuries, complete safety training, and store flammable materials correctly.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and meet quality standards.
• Welcome guests, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and communicate professionally with guests and colleagues.
