Role overview

Maintenance and repair duties

• Respond to guest repair requests and communicate with guests to resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen and mechanical-room equipment; clean, lubricate, and visually inspect equipment.
• Maintain inventory and requisition parts; identify and operate building and equipment utility shut-offs; share daily activities and shift issues.
• Perform basic maintenance across HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic and electronic controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, and building systems.
• Prepare and paint surfaces, repair drywall and wood trim, replace bulbs and A/C filters, and clean repair areas.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical components, guestroom items, appliances, vacuum cleaners, and internet devices; program televisions and complete engineering inventory tasks.
• Use Lockout/Tagout before maintenance, store flammable materials safely, and repair landscaping and sprinkler systems.
• Enter air-handler schedules and make temperature changes using a computer.

Qualifications and physical requirements

• A driver's license is required.
• Some general maintenance and interior or exterior surface-preparation and painting experience is preferred; hotel engineering or maintenance experience is a plus.
• A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
• The role involves lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance, handling heavier items with assistance, using stairs, ramps, and ladders, and reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Basic computer use is needed to enter and locate work-related information.
