Job Summary

Roles & Responsibilities

• Ensure duties are performed in a safe, efficient, and effective manner and comply with NOMAC safety rules and regulations.
• Perform all maintenance activities in the plant in a timely and safe manner with strict adherence to maintenance procedures and work instructions.
• Report to Electrical Supervisor/Engineer for spare parts and consumables required and update spares availability.
• Ensure proper isolations are carried out before starting maintenance activity in coordination with Electrical Supervisor and local operator.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose problems and perform maintenance on equipment under jurisdiction.
• Install, adjust, inspect, service, and repair a variety of static and rotating electrical equipment used in power and desalination plants.
• Carry out all necessary preparation required for electrical maintenance to assigned equipment or area.
• Understand working knowledge of equipment operation and associated operating systems.
• Perform 5S housekeeping in the area of work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

• Educational desired: Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or worked as Skilled Electrical Labor in NOMAC plants for a minimum of 4 years.
• Preferred: Bachelor of Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years in the same position, or worked as Skilled Electrical Skilled Labor in NOMAC plants for a minimum of 4 years.
• Preferable extensive experience as Electrical Technician in conventional, combined cycle, cogeneration, water desalination (RO, MSF, MED), and renewable energy (solar, wind) plants.

Required Skills

• Generic awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Management system principles.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment completing objectives efficiently with a sense of responsibility.
• Ability and willingness to work in non-ideal environments such as confined spaces, working at heights, and around chemicals.
• Understand, practice, and enforce safe work practices including respiratory protection, elevated work platforms, fall protection, lockout/tagout, fire protection systems, electrical safety, confined space entry, and PPE.
• Knowledge of identification, classification, and disposal of waste.
• Knowledge of environmental and health impact of chemicals used in the plant.
• Knowledge of firefighting equipment and first aid measures.
• Basic knowledge of power/water plant operational activities.
• Basic computer skills.

Desired Certification

• ISO9001, 14001, OHSAS 18001 awareness/working knowledge is preferred.

Work Condition

• Ready to work in a remote location.
