Job purpose
Monitor and control power and water unit operations and parameters through the plant control room to maintain steady operations and meet production targets.

Control room operations
- Operate assigned units from control panels, adjust operating conditions and product flows, and respond to abnormalities or equipment malfunctions.
- Understand plant layouts, processes, operating systems, equipment, and procedures across multiple operating assets.
- Maintain radio contact with field operators; update logs and registers and complete shift handovers.
- Diagnose malfunctions, correct faults or raise work requests, and follow up on equipment repairs.
- Coordinate equipment isolation and normalization under approved Lock Out & Tag Out and Permit to Work procedures.
- Train junior team members on the job.
Safety and improvement
- Follow health, safety, security, environmental, quality, and operating procedures; monitor environmental parameters and report deviations.
- Contribute to change initiatives, programmes, and projects.
Qualifications and experience
- Technical diploma in engineering.
- At least five years of control-room operations experience in power or water desalination units.
- Knowledge of plant equipment, processes, control-room operations, HSE and quality standards, and power and water desalination operations.
- Knowledge of operating systems such as DCS, SCADA, or PLC, downtime analysis, and problem-solving tools.
- Skills include attention to detail, mentoring and coaching, planning and organization, and teamwork.
