Electrical Engineer

Job Summary

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assigns preventive and corrective maintenance jobs as per the direction of Section Head and supervises and coordinates maintenance staff.
• Executes work orders through CMMS (SAP) and coordinates with planning engineer for job completion and technical matters.
• Helps Maintenance Manager execute corrective and planned maintenance with regard to the annual scheduled maintenance plan.
• Performs technical evaluation of quotations received from purchase department and recommends appropriate choice.
• Prepares purchase requisitions for spare parts and consumables within budgetary constraints and arranges strategic spares availability.
• Reviews and recommends new maintenance procedures and work instructions.
• Supervises, directs, and coordinates the activities of all personnel assigned to the area.
• Ensures environmental aspect-impact and hazard risk assessments are carried out, controlled, and updated.
• Implements, monitors, and reports IMS objectives, targets, and programs.
• Ensures legal compliance with respect to scope of activities.
• Identifies root cause for non-conformances and implements corrective and preventive actions.
• Identifies competency gaps for subordinate personnel and carries out annual performance evaluations.

Job Specifications

• Desired: Bachelor's engineering degree (B.E) in Electrical for a four-year college or university.
• Minimum 4-8 years of related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferable: 10 years of related experience and training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills

• Awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Management system principles.
• Knowledge of applicable legal requirements.
• Hazard risk assessment and aspect impact assessment.
• Investigating skills and knowledge of spillage containment.
• Knowledge of managing HSE emergencies.
• Knowledge of identification, classification and disposal of waste.
• Knowledge of emission monitoring.
• Be able to lead the maintenance group.
• Excellent communication skills in English language.
• Computer literate and able to use MS Outlook for correspondence.
• Be able to use SAP as end user.

Desired Certification / Training

• ISO9001, 14001, OHSAS 18001 awareness/working knowledge is preferred.

Work Conditions

• Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions.
• May be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or chemical risk, and electrical shock.
• Noise level is usually moderate but very loud conditions do exist.
