Electrical Supervisor

Job Purpose

People Management

• Supervise the activities and work of team members to ensure targets and objectives are achieved and the business plan is delivered in line with required policies, processes, procedures, and systems.

Maintenance Management

• Assign resources for scheduled preventative maintenance, breakdowns, and major repair jobs to enable optimal functionality of electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot and conduct root cause analysis on all electrical equipment to ensure smooth, trouble-free operations.
• Test and validate the condition of equipment upon completion of repairs to confirm readiness in compliance with quality standards.
• Perform regular inspections to follow up on work progress of electrical technicians and highlight non-conformances to the Electrical Engineer.
• Participate in the investigation and specification of modifications to existing systems and assist the Electrical Engineer with technical specifications, materials, drawings, process diagrams, and cost estimates.

Outage Management

• Coordinate the planning and execution of the annual outage maintenance of critical electrical equipment per OEM recommendations and provide technical support to meet EHS, scope, cost, and timeline objectives.

Documentation

• Ensure all maintenance documentation for electrical activities is completed correctly, including the Maintenance Log outlining fault, method of repair, and time, labour, and materials used.

Health, Safety, Security & Environment

• Ensure adherence to all relevant health, safety, security, and environmental procedures, instructions, and controls to guarantee employee safety and environmental compliance.

Inventory Management

• Monitor material and spare-parts requirements for electrical maintenance activities and facilitate procurement of stocks for accurate and timely availability and replenishment.

Policies, Processes, Systems & Procedures

• Adhere to all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, standard maintenance procedures, and instructions so work is carried out to the required standard and consistently.

Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programmes, and projects in line with the organization's standards.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

• A Diploma in Electrical maintenance.
• 10 years' experience in electrical maintenance such as installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment used in power and water desalination plants.
• Practical knowledge of relevant plant equipment.
• Awareness of HSE and quality standards.
• Knowledge of downtime analysis and good knowledge of problem-solving tools.
• Knowledge of preventative/predictive maintenance theory.
• Mentoring, coaching, and people management skills.
• Strong planning, organizing, and integration skills.
• Teamwork and effective collaboration skills.
