Design electrical lighting, small power and ELV systems and controls for buildings.
Deliver efficient MEP electrical engineering designs in accordance with local codes and standards.
Job responsibilities
- Work with project teams to understand requirements and objectives and develop design plans, specifications and schematics.
- Calculate building electrical systems and select cable, lighting and device sizes and types.
- Develop design calculations and drawings for procurement and installation.
- Prepare and maintain drawings, schematics, riser diagrams, cable schedules, equipment schedules and technical reports.
- Coordinate integration of electrical systems with other building services and project stakeholders.
- Incorporate energy-efficient technologies and practices into designs.
- Ensure designs comply with local building codes, safety regulations and industry standards.
- Provide construction-phase technical support, respond to RFIs and support proper installation and performance.
- Conduct quality checks on design plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Five years’ experience as an Electrical Design Engineer in MEP projects.
- Strong proficiency in design software or tools for MEP installations.
- Familiarity with MEP systems and terminology, construction practices and building codes.
- Strong knowledge of lighting, small power and ELV systems, components and equipment, and applicable codes, regulations and industry standards.
