EHS Engineer

Role overview

Site safety and compliance

• Implement and monitor the EHS management system in line with company, client, and statutory requirements.
• Conduct inspections, audits, and compliance checks across road-construction work.
• Identify hazards and apply risk assessments and mitigation measures; prepare and review JSAs, risk assessments, and method statements.
• Monitor safety for excavation, earthworks, roadworks, lifting, temporary works, traffic management, and utility works.
• Ensure UAE/Dubai regulatory compliance and coordinate traffic-management and road-safety measures.

Incident response and training

• Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and assist with root-cause and corrective-action reporting.
• Deliver toolbox talks, inductions, awareness programs, and safety training.
• Monitor PPE use and safe practices and coordinate subcontractor compliance.
• Support emergency preparedness, drills, and response procedures.

Environment and reporting

• Monitor waste management, dust, noise, spills, and other construction-related environmental impacts.
• Maintain EHS records, permits, inspection and training documentation, and compliance reports.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly EHS performance reports and statistics and support project safety objectives.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a relevant discipline.
• 5–10 years of EHS or safety experience, preferably in EPC, infrastructure, roads, highways, or civil construction.
• Strong construction-safety, risk-assessment, and incident-investigation knowledge; knowledge of UAE/Dubai EHS regulations.
• Good communication, coordination, and reporting skills.

Preferred qualifications

• Relevant professional Health and Safety/EHS certification is an advantage.
• Large-scale UAE/GCC construction or infrastructure experience is preferred; roads, highways, utilities, and major civil/EPC projects are particularly relevant.
• Valid UAE/GCC experience and relevant EHS certifications are an added advantage.
