Manage the complete demurrage claims process, from reviewing vessel documents and calculating laytime through claim issuance, responses, and follow-up.

Demurrage calculation and claims
- Review Charter Party and Sales & Purchase Contract terms and analyze NORs, SOFs, vessel timesheets, and port documentation.
- Calculate laytime, demurrage, and despatch; identify documentation discrepancies and maintain calculation sheets.
- Issue supported claims within contractual deadlines, follow up with counterparties, and coordinate or negotiate claim amounts.
- Review incoming claims for contractual validity, errors, unsupported delays, duplicate claims, and periods to exclude.
- Prepare claim acceptances, rejections, or counteroffers and maintain correspondence and claim status records.
Recovery, reporting, and trading support
- Track issued, received, disputed, agreed, and outstanding claims; monitor deadlines and coordinate settlement follow-up.
- Coordinate with Finance on approved claims, invoices, payments, receivables, and payables; prepare ageing reports and periodic demurrage reports.
- Prepare bulk-shipment purchase orders and contracts, including LC arrangements, and prepare sales contracts and proforma invoices.
- Prepare dispatch documents for Logistics and communicate with customers and internal departments.
Candidate profile
- Sound understanding of Charter Party terms, laytime calculations, SOFs, NORs, vessel operations, and demurrage claims.
- Strong analytical skills, numerical accuracy, and attention to detail.
