Data Engineer

Role purpose

Compensation

• Monthly salary: AED 20,000.

Data engineering and quality

• Develop, maintain, and monitor ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data from multiple sources; support ingestion, transformation, integration, and processing.
• Troubleshoot pipeline issues and perform data cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and quality checks; work with teams to resolve inconsistencies.
• Ensure datasets are accurate, consistent, and reliable for downstream analytics and reporting.

Modeling, analytics, and automation

• Design and maintain reusable datasets, data models, and semantic layers; use dimensional modeling and star schemas and apply design patterns and SOLID principles.
• Support interactive dashboards and automated reports using Tableau or similar BI tools; prepare analytics-ready datasets for KPIs and management reporting.
• Use AI-assisted tools for querying, scripting, development, and automation; validate outputs and follow data governance and security standards.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive data-engineering activities.

Collaboration and documentation

• Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into structured, scalable data solutions.
• Maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, mappings, and operating procedures; follow established governance, security, and quality standards.
• Communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Technical qualifications

• Strong SQL knowledge, including joins, aggregations, subqueries, and data manipulation; proficiency in Python for data processing, scripting, and automation.
• Understand ETL/ELT, data integration, data modeling, dimensional modeling, star schemas, and data warehousing.
• Exposure to Tableau or another BI/data visualization platform; understand data quality, validation, and reconciliation techniques.
• Familiarity with SOLID principles and design patterns; exposure to AI-assisted development and automation tools is an advantage.
