Role overview

Data Analyst supporting a collaborative technology and data team in an operational environment.

Stakeholder-facing role reporting to a senior technology leader and working closely with a Data Architect.

The role is described as junior-to-mid-level and focuses on dashboards, reporting, data models, and business insights.

Location and schedule

  • Ottawa, Ontario; the description specifies on-site work.
  • The schedule is 40 hours per week, eight hours per day.
  • The start date is ASAP.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, visualizations, and performance metrics for operational and executive users.
  • Use SQL to extract, transform, and analyze data; develop dimensional and semantic models.
  • Develop Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse and Warehouse solutions and integrate data from APIs, JSON, file exchanges, and relational databases.
  • Use Python/Pandas for data preparation, automation, and analysis; support data quality, documentation, governance, privacy, and security.
  • Gather business requirements, communicate actionable insights, improve reporting processes, and collaborate with internal teams and external providers.

Required qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
  • At least 3 years of relevant data analysis, BI, reporting, and Power BI dashboard development experience.
  • Strong SQL; experience with dimensional modelling, Microsoft Fabric or comparable cloud analytics, Python/Pandas, and data integration.
  • Able to translate business requirements and clearly present complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must be eligible to complete required background and security screening.

Additional assets

  • Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate or Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification is an asset.
  • Tableau, Qlik, Looker, SSRS, advanced Excel, Snowflake, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform experience is an asset.
  • Aviation, transportation, 24/7 operational environments, governance, privacy, information security, and operational metrics experience are assets.
  • English and French communication is an asset.

Compensation and benefits

  • Compensation is listed as CAD 90,000–CAD 106,740; no pay cadence is specified.
