The Cost Controller monitors, analyzes, and controls operational costs to support efficient resource use and the organization’s financial objectives.
The role oversees cost reporting, budgeting support, inventory management, financial controls, and asset management.
The role supports efficient department operations in line with Hyatt corporate strategies and brand standards and employee, guest, and owner expectations.
Responsibilities
- Support cost reporting and budgeting, and oversee inventory management and financial controls.
- Maintain fixed asset records and manage acquisition, tracking, depreciation, transfer, and disposal.
- Conduct physical asset verification and audits, monitor asset tracking systems, and reconcile asset records with financial statements.
- Safeguard assets and ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and financial procedures.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 2–3 years of experience in cost control, asset management, and inventory control.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
- Experience administering fixed asset registers and managing asset lifecycle processes.
- Knowledge of inventory control and internal control procedures.
- Experience conducting physical asset verification and audits and reconciling asset records with financial statements.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for reporting, analysis, and reconciliation.
- Analytical and problem-solving ability, accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Large-scale hospitality operations experience is preferred.
