Leads civil construction for electrical substation projects, including 132kV, 220kV, 400kV, and distribution substations.
Reports to the Project Manager or Project Director.
Civil construction scope
- Oversees control and GIS buildings, transformer and reactor foundations, equipment plinths, cable trenches, duct banks, oil containment bunds, roads, drainage, earthing facilities, gantry foundations, utility corridors, and related infrastructure.
- Ensures civil works follow approved drawings, project specifications, contracts, quality standards, and HSE regulations.
- Leads site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, QA/QC, HSE, planning, procurement, and electrical construction personnel.
- Develops construction methodologies and manages resources, schedules, progress, risks, drawing reviews, quality, subcontractors, costs, and site issues.
- Coordinates clients, consultants, and utility authorities; supports inspections and closes NCRs and punch points.
- Maintains project documentation, progress reports, and as-built records; delivers safe, timely, cost-effective completion.
Qualification and capabilities
- Minimum qualification is listed as Bachelors Program Civil Engineering.
- Requires technical expertise, leadership, and effective stakeholder management.
- Requires coordination of multidisciplinary teams and civil/electrical interfaces.
