Assist the culinary team in preparing and presenting high-quality dishes while maintaining food hygiene, kitchen organization, and culinary standards.

Key responsibilities
- Assist senior chefs with cooking dishes to established recipes and quality standards.
- Prepare ingredients and maintain mise en place before service.
- Assist with sauces, soups, stocks, main courses, and side dishes.
- Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, portion sizes, and presentation.
- Store, label, and rotate ingredients using FIFO procedures.
- Maintain kitchen workstation, utensil, and equipment cleanliness.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety rules.
- Monitor ingredient quality, reduce waste, report stock shortages, and work efficiently with the kitchen team.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Head Chef or immediate supervisor.
Requirements
- Previous commis chef or professional kitchen experience is preferred.
- Basic food preparation and cooking knowledge; food safety, hygiene, and sanitation knowledge.
- Good knife skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow recipes and portion-control standards.
- Good communication and teamwork; ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Preferred qualifications
- Culinary certification or relevant professional training is advantageous.
- French cuisine knowledge or experience is advantageous.
- Hotel, restaurant, or fine-dining kitchen experience is preferred.
- Food safety or food handling certification is advantageous.
Work location
- Work is in person in Doha, Qatar.
Pay and job type
- Full-time position.
- Pay is QAR 3,000–4,000 per month.
