Position overview

Commis 3 in Food and Beverage & Culinary at the Ritz-Carlton in Dubai.

Full-time, non-management position; the role is not remote.

Food preparation and cooking

  • Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring, and mixing.
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
  • Prepare cold foods and serve appropriate portions.
  • Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers; test doneness and monitor food quality.
  • Set up and break down the work station; check appliance and food temperatures.

Kitchen operations and conduct

  • Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
  • Follow safety and security procedures and report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance, protect company assets, and keep proprietary information confidential.
  • Communicate professionally, build positive working relationships, support team goals, and meet quality standards.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods; reach, bend, twist, pull, stoop, and handle objects up to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

Preferred qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
  • At least 1 year of related work experience preferred.
  • No supervisory experience required; no license or certification specified.
