Guest calls and communications
- Answer, record, log, and process guest calls, requests, questions, and concerns using the telephone switchboard.
- Handle wake-up calls, screening, do-not-disturb, call forwarding, conference calls, TDD relay calls, and non-registered guest calls.
- Monitor busy or unanswered lines, update callers on hold, and offer to take messages.
- Receive, record, and relay messages accurately; advise guests of messages and manage room message lights.
- Explain internet access to guests and transfer service problems to the provider's support line.
- Test communications equipment and respond to special guest requests.
- Contact appropriate staff or departments to resolve issues, then follow up to confirm guest satisfaction.
- Dispatch bell or valet staff as needed.
Preferred qualifications and physical demands
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.
- No related work experience or supervisory experience is required; no license or certification is required.
- The role requires extended periods of standing, sitting, or walking and moving objects up to 10 pounds without assistance.
Service standards and workplace conduct
- Follow company policies, report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, maintain confidentiality, and protect company assets.
- Welcome guests, anticipate service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and communicate clearly and professionally.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance, positive working relationships, and compliance with quality standards.
- Use computers and/or POS systems and perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.
