Position summary

Kitchen responsibilities

• Prepare doughs and fillings, proof, bake, and decorate breads and pastries as appropriate.
• Review production sheets for the daily baked-goods list.
• Prepare food using recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
• Maintain food safety program logs and inform the Chef about excess food for daily-special planning.
• Use baking and measuring tools and appliances safely.
• Follow food handling and personal hygiene procedures; check food and appliance temperatures and report issues.
• Monitor food quality and portions throughout the shift.

Team and workplace responsibilities

• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline, coaching, and motivation.
• Serve as a role model or mentor and support team goals through positive working relationships.
• Follow company, safety, and security policies; report incidents and unsafe conditions and complete safety training.
• Maintain professional appearance, protect company information and assets, and communicate with tact and respect.
• Perform other reasonable duties requested by supervisors.

Preferred qualifications

• At least 2 years of related work experience is preferred.
• A technical, trade, or vocational school degree is preferred.
• No supervisory experience is specified; no license or certification is listed.

Physical requirements

• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Move on sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces; reach, bend, twist, pull, and stoop.
• Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.

Schedule and position

• Schedule is full time.
• Position is non-management.
