Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, menus, and senior chefs' instructions.
- Assist the Chef de Partie with daily kitchen operations and food preparation.
- Prepare, store, label, and date ingredients; maintain food quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and HACCP handling and storage standards.
- Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, workstations, and storage areas.
- Monitor stock and report shortages or wastage; minimize food waste and use ingredients efficiently.
- Assist with receiving deliveries and checking quality and freshness.
- Support other kitchen sections and follow hotel policies, safety procedures, and standard operating procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Good knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and kitchen hygiene.
- Basic understanding of HACCP and food safety standards.
- Culinary arts certificate or diploma preferred; professional kitchen experience is an advantage.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, communicate well, and work positively with a team.
- Willingness to learn and follow senior chefs' instructions.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
