Civil & Structural lead

Role overview

Technical leadership and design

• Lead multiple projects and mentor engineers, designers, and modelers.
• Review and approve engineering calculations, reports, specifications, and drawings; ensure compliance with client requirements, project specifications, codes, and standards.
• Lead or review designs for RCC and steel buildings, equipment and machine foundations, pipe and cable racks, tanks, vessel foundations, and technological structures.
• Design scope also includes compressor and pump foundations, substations, utility buildings, warehouses, logistics facilities, PEBs, retaining walls, underground structures, and road and grading interfaces.
• Review structural analysis and design; verify calculations, load assumptions, and stability requirements.
• Support seismic, wind, and dynamic design requirements and optimize designs for safety, economy, constructability, cost, and schedule.
• Resolve complex engineering and construction challenges.

Project coordination and delivery

• Manage discipline schedules, deliverables, progress, productivity, engineering hours, and resource requirements.
• Support proposal engineering and project cost estimation; identify project risks and mitigation measures.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, architecture, PHE, HVAC, and underground engineering teams.
• Participate in plot plan, HAZOP, model, and interdisciplinary design reviews; resolve interfaces and engineering conflicts.

Construction support and quality

• Support construction and commissioning; review technical queries, RFIs, site modifications, contractor drawings, and construction documentation.
• Participate in site visits, inspections, constructability reviews, and field issue resolution.
• Maintain quality procedures, conduct technical reviews and design audits, promote standardization, and support continuous improvement.
• Ensure HSE and industry-practice compliance; implement lessons learned and project quality objectives.

Tools and preferred platforms

• Job requirement tools: STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and MS Office.
• Preferred tools: Revit Structure, Tekla Structures, Civil 3D, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360, and Primavera P6 or MS Project.

Industry experience

Requirements

• Experience leading civil and structural engineering activities for industrial projects.
• Experience in one or more of the FMCG, chemical, oil and gas, or other listed industrial sectors.
• Knowledge of structural analysis and design, including design calculations, load assumptions, and structural stability.
• Proficiency with STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and MS Office, as listed under job requirements.
• Revit Structure, Tekla Structures, Civil 3D, Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, and Primavera P6 or MS Project are preferred.
