Chief Hse Design (Hsed) Engineer

Key Responsibilities And Duties

• **Project Delivery & Ownership:**
• Ensure that all activities related to the HSE Design engineering discipline within the assigned project are efficiently and cost-effectively executed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety/environmental requirements.
• **Technical Assurance:**
• Act as the technical authority and lead the Technical Assurance process for the assigned HSED project scope.
• **Deliverables Approval:**
• Review and formally approve all deliverables issued by the HSED discipline for the project, including hazardous area classifications, HSED Plans, active and passive fire protection specifications, and workshop close-out reports.
• **Safety & Risk Workshops:**
• Actively participate in and oversee project HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and Risk Assessment studies.
• **Project & Cost Control:**
• Prepare the deliverables planning for the HSED scope in line with the overall project schedule.
• Control, review, and monitor progress deviations, implement recovery plans, and track discipline engineering man-hours (spent vs. earned Mhrs) against the budget.
• **Procurement & Vendor Interface:**
• Supervise the overall process of Material Requisitions and technical bid evaluations for Fire Fighting Equipment.
• Review vendor technical documentation and manage supplier technical follow-ups.
• **Interdisciplinary Coordination:**
• Maintain proper coordination with other engineering disciplines and actively perform and participate in interdisciplinary squad checks.
• **Client & Bidding Interface:**
• Interact directly with the Client as the key technical contact person for the HSED discipline.
• Review tender documentation, prepare technical clarification requests during the bid phase, and support the Bid & Proposal team.

Your Profile

• **Experience:**
• 10–15 years of long-standing experience
• in HSED Engineering within large EPC Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Energy projects, showing clear technical project delivery capabilities (upgraded from entry-level requirements).
• **Education:**
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in

Environmental Or Chemical Engineering

• .
• **Technical Domain:**
• Solid HSED Engineering background with deep knowledge of main international codes, standards, and best engineering practices (API, IEC, NFPA, etc.).
• **Languages:**
• Fluent written and spoken

English
