Chief Engineer managing hotel engineering and maintenance operations in Sharjah.
Full-time, management position; not remote.
Engineering and facilities
- Manage buildings, grounds, and physical plant with attention to safety, security, and asset protection.
- Oversee equipment and systems including refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical, and life safety systems.
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently and establish an effective rooms-maintenance program.
- Manage preventive maintenance, energy conservation, capital projects, and engineering budgets.
- Inspect facilities, assess required work, and arrange repairs, painting, renovations, and equipment or furnishing replacements.
- Maintain regulatory compliance, policies, standards, logs, and records; lead facility emergency response.
- Purchase equipment and supplies, manage controllable expenses, and help prioritize property maintenance.
Team and guest service
- Supervise Engineering operations, including in the Director of Engineering’s absence.
- Handle guest complaints and empower staff to deliver excellent service.
- Maintain collaborative employee relationships, recognize contributions, provide feedback, and address staff concerns and performance.
Education and experience
- Either a high school diploma or GED, four years of relevant engineering and maintenance experience, and technical training in HVAC-R, electrical, or plumbing; or a related two-year degree, two years of relevant experience, and the same technical training.
- Related two-year degrees include Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or a related major.
