Role overview
Manage an assigned kitchen section and ensure dishes meet hotel quality, hygiene, and brand standards.
Support the Sous Chef and Executive Chef with efficient kitchen operations and guest dining experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes to approved recipes, presentation standards, and guest requirements.
- Organize the assigned section and maintain consistent food quality, portion control, taste, and presentation.
- Maintain food safety, hygiene, HACCP, and kitchen cleanliness; monitor mise-en-place and daily preparation.
- Guide, train, and support Demi Chefs and Commis Chefs within the section.
- Assist with stock control, proper storage, FIFO procedures, and reducing food waste.
- Use equipment safely and promptly report maintenance issues.
- Support senior chefs during busy operations and special events; coordinate with other sections for timely service.
- Follow NH Collection and Minor Hotels standards, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous Chef de Partie experience or strong Demi Chef experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel or quality restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, hygiene, and food safety.
- Good communication and teamwork skills; able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- A culinary qualification or relevant professional training is preferred.
- Passion for food quality, presentation, and excellent guest experiences.
