Role overview

Leads a Canadian team of specialist Solutions Architects across AWS products and services.

Partners with local sales teams to accelerate adoption of AWS cloud services, solutions, workloads, and offerings.

Reports to the Solution Architect Country Leader and develops national priorities for specialist resources and customer adoption.

Provides domain expertise across generative AI, high-performance computing, compute, networking, storage, databases, and analytics.

Supports executive technical discussions on application modernization, business transformation, and AI/ML adoption.

The team captures customer feedback in Canada to inform AWS product and service roadmaps.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and lead a high-performing specialist Solutions Architect team and foster innovation, continuous learning, and customer focus.
  • Build strategic relationships with customer technical leaders and align AWS solutions with business and technical objectives in executive discussions.
  • Represent AWS in executive conversations and public speaking, and write content that demonstrates customer value.
  • Identify ways to integrate emerging technologies, including generative AI, analytics, and automation, into customer solutions.
  • Guide creation of whitepapers, presentations, and other customer-facing best-practice content.
  • Develop strategies for long-term adoption and growth across data and developer tools, advanced compute, core services, migration and modernization, or business applications.
  • Work across Solution Architecture, Sales, Business Development, Marketing, Partners, and Training on customer acquisition programs.
  • Capture the customer voice and share feedback with worldwide teams to influence technology roadmaps and go-to-market strategy.

Basic qualifications

  • 8+ years managing a technical team of Solutions Architects, sales engineers, or similar technical roles.
  • Experience architecting or operating solutions built on a cloud provider such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI.
  • Experience engaging directly with customers, particularly vice presidents and C-level executives.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience architecting, migrating, transforming, or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud.
  • AWS Professional-level certification or a degree in advanced technology.
  • Deep expertise in two or more areas such as analytics, databases, storage, AI/ML, or compute.
  • Background includes product, architecture, and technology experience with large enterprises and high-growth organizations.

Compensation

  • Base salary is CAD 194,000–291,000 annually in Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal, with final compensation based on experience, qualifications, and location.
  • Total compensation may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units; benefits include insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
