Overview

Our client is looking for an entrepreneurial and consumer-obsessed Brand Manager to lead the growth of our skincare portfolio.

This role combines brand strategy, innovation, product development, and commercial ownership.

The ideal candidate is someone who understands skincare trends, has successfully launched products from concept to commercialization, and can build brands that consumers love.

New Product Development (NPD) will be a key responsibility, requiring close collaboration with R&D, product development, sourcing, packaging, regulatory, manufacturing, creative, and sales teams.

Brand Strategy & Growth

  • Develop and execute the annual brand strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Own the overall health and performance of the brand, including revenue, market share, profitability, and consumer engagement.
  • Build long-term brand positioning and identify growth opportunities across product categories.
  • Monitor competitive landscape, consumer trends, pricing, and category movements to drive strategic decisions.
  • Track brand performance using key business metrics and recommend corrective actions where required.

New Product Development (Core Responsibility)

  • Lead end-to-end product development from idea generation to successful market launch.
  • Identify consumer needs, white spaces, and emerging skincare trends through market research and consumer insights.
  • Prepare product briefs covering formulation, claims, pricing, packaging, positioning, and target audience.
  • Partner closely with R&D to develop innovative, high-quality formulations.
  • Work with packaging teams on design, functionality, sustainability, and consumer appeal.
  • Coordinate with regulatory and quality teams to ensure product compliance across markets.
  • Drive project timelines across cross-functional teams to ensure timely product launches.
  • Conduct concept testing, product validation, and consumer trials where required.
  • Build innovation pipelines and launch calendars for existing and new categories.

Product & Portfolio Management

  • Manage the complete product lifecycle from launch through growth, optimization, and discontinuation.
  • Recommend pricing strategies, product architecture, and portfolio expansion opportunities.
  • Evaluate SKU performance and optimize assortment based on consumer demand and commercial performance.
  • Forecast demand for upcoming launches in collaboration with planning and supply chain teams.

Marketing & Consumer Engagement

  • Develop integrated marketing campaigns across digital, retail, influencer, PR, and content platforms.
  • Work with creative teams to develop compelling brand communication and storytelling.
  • Partner with performance marketing teams to improve campaign effectiveness and customer acquisition.
  • Brief agencies on campaign development and evaluate creative outputs.
  • Support product education initiatives for consumers, retailers, and internal teams.

Commercial & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, E-commerce, Modern Trade, General Trade, and Marketplace teams to drive sell-through.
  • Partner with Finance to manage budgets, profitability, and pricing decisions.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Manufacturing to ensure inventory readiness and successful product launches.
  • Present business reviews, innovation updates, and launch plans to senior leadership.

Consumer & Market Insights

  • Continuously study consumer behavior, skincare routines, ingredient trends, and emerging technologies.
  • Analyze sales data, customer feedback, online reviews, and market intelligence to refine product strategy.
  • Stay updated on global beauty and skincare innovations and identify opportunities for localization.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Cosmetics, or a related field.
  • MBA preferred.
  • 4–8 years of experience in Brand Management, Product Management, Innovation, or New Product Development.
  • Experience within skincare, beauty, cosmetics, personal care, wellness, or FMCG brands is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end New Product Development projects.
  • Strong understanding of skincare ingredients, formulations, claims, and consumer trends.
  • Experience working with R&D, contract manufacturers, and packaging development teams.
