Position Overview

Shift Supervision & Leadership

• Act as the leader on duty during assigned shifts, ensuring efficient workflow and strict adherence to company policies.
• Step up to oversee full bar operations and handle responsibilities seamlessly when the Head Barista is not present.
• Delegate daily tasks to baristas and ensure the counter and seating areas remain clean, organized, and welcoming.

Quality Control & Execution

• Monitor and enforce exact standards for coffee extraction, milk texturing, recipe compliance, and beverage presentation.
• Perform regular equipment calibration checks (grinders, espresso machines) during the shift to guarantee consistency.
• Assist the Head Barista in conducting regular beverage and quality audits.

Inventory & Shift Handovers

• Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and packaging during the shift to ensure zero operational delays.
• Complete accurate shift handover checklists, reporting any inventory shortages or equipment issues directly to the Head Barista.
• Assist in receiving supplier deliveries and verifying quantities against delivery notes.

Team Support & Training

• Support the onboarding and practical training of junior baristas under the guidance of the Head Barista.
• Foster a positive, cooperative, and high-energy work environment among the shift team.
• Provide real-time feedback to team members on speed, service, and technical skills.

Ad-Hoc Task Management

• Take immediate initiative to resolve unexpected operational issues, such as equipment malfunctions, sudden spikes in customer traffic, or inventory emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to service.
• Perform any additional tasks or special projects as assigned by the Head Barista or Store Management to support overall branch success.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a Senior Barista or Shift Leader in a high-volume café or restaurant.
• Strong technical skills in specialty coffee brewing, latte art, and equipment maintenance.
• Natural leadership abilities with excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive under pressure during peak rush hours.
• Basic understanding of inventory tracking and daily reporting systems.
