Backend Developer

Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend applications using PHP Laravel.
• Build secure, scalable, and high-performance RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases, including schema design, indexing, relationships, and query optimization.
• Implement and manage Redis for caching, session management, queues, and real-time data processing.
• Integrate third-party services, including Telr, PayTabs, Stripe, and other payment gateways.
• Develop and maintain integrations with WhatsApp Business Cloud API and Meta Business API.
• Implement authentication and authorization using JWT and OAuth.
• Configure and manage Laravel Queues, scheduled jobs, and background processing.
• Support real-time features using Node.js and Socket.io where required.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.
• Collaborate with Frontend Developers, Mobile Developers, UI/UX Designers, QA Engineers, and Product Teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Participate in code reviews and follow coding standards and best practices.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for APIs and backend services.

Requirementstechnical Skills

• Minimum 3 years of experience in backend development using PHP.
• Strong hands-on experience with Laravel Framework.
• Proven experience designing and developing REST APIs.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including database design, relationships, indexing, and query optimization.
• Experience using Redis for caching, sessions, queues, and real-time applications.
• Experience integrating payment gateways such as Telr, PayTabs, Stripe, or similar.
• Experience working with WhatsApp Business Cloud API and Meta Business API.
• Solid understanding of Laravel Queue Management and background job processing.
• Basic experience with Node.js and Socket.io for real-time services.
• Experience implementing secure authentication using JWT and OAuth.
• Strong understanding of Git version control and collaborative development workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing marketplace, booking, or e-commerce platforms.
• Familiarity with Node.js for real-time service collaboration.
• Experience supporting bilingual applications, including Arabic language content and APIs.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar to improve development productivity.
• Knowledge of Docker, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and modern deployment practices is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple development tasks in a fast-paced environment.
