Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain server-side applications and APIs.
• Build scalable and secure RESTful and microservices-based architectures.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA, and product teams to deliver features end to end.
• Write clean, efficient, reusable code following best practices.
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Develop and manage database schemas, queries, and integrations.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and data-protection mechanisms.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and sprint planning.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Adopt AI-assisted development tools and practices to improve productivity and code quality.

Must-Have Skills

• Use at least one backend stack: Java with Spring Boot, Node.js, Python with Django or Flask, or .NET Core.
• Build RESTful APIs and web services and understand object-oriented and/or functional programming.
• Work with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Apply data modeling, query optimization, microservices, caching, API security, and asynchronous processing.
• Use OAuth or JWT and messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Use Git, CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps, and Docker.

Good to Have

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP is beneficial.
• Exposure to GraphQL APIs and event-driven architecture is beneficial.
• Knowledge of New Relic or Prometheus and test-driven development is beneficial.

Education and Soft Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, communication, collaboration, Agile working, ownership, and attention to detail.
