Assistant Engineering Manager

Position details

Maintenance and facilities duties

• Install, maintain, perform preventive maintenance on, and recommend replacement of tools, appliances, and equipment.
• Calibrate controls, gauges, and meters; identify and operate shut-off valves.
• Order, mark, and stock parts and supplies; maintain inventory and purchase order logs.
• Inspect tools, equipment, and machines; use computers to enter or locate work-related information; operate power lifts.
• Complete life-safety checks, including fire-pump and generator run tests; inspect fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
• Assist in developing disaster response protocols and respond to guest repair requests.

Team, safety, and service duties

• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and coaching employees.
• Follow safety and security policies; report maintenance problems, hazards, accidents, or injuries; and complete safety training and certifications.
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality; welcome guests, anticipate service needs, and assist individuals with disabilities.
• Build positive working relationships, support team goals, and respond appropriately to employee concerns.
• Meet quality standards and recommend or implement improvements to efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, or cost savings.
• Communicate clearly and professionally; perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.
• The role includes physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and moving on stairs or service ramps.

Preferred qualifications

• Technical, trade, or vocational school degree is preferred.
• At least 2 years of related work experience is preferred.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
• No license or certification is specified.
