Performs testing, inspection, and quality control of asphalt materials, aggregates, and asphalt mixes against project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
Responsibilities
- Collect and prepare asphalt, bitumen, aggregate, and related material samples; conduct laboratory and field tests.
- Perform asphalt mix design and production quality-control testing, including aggregate and bitumen property tests.
- Perform Marshall Stability, Density, Air Void, and Compaction tests.
- Record, analyze, and report results; maintain laboratory documentation and quality records.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment and testing instruments.
- Monitor asphalt plant production against approved mix designs.
- Coordinate with site engineers, QA/QC personnel, and project management teams.
- Follow safety procedures and laboratory standards.
Qualifications and experience
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in asphalt laboratory testing and quality control.
- Experience with road construction, highway, airport, or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with ASTM, AASHTO, BS, and UAE specifications.
- Certification in asphalt or material testing is an advantage.
- A valid UAE driving license is preferred for field assignments.
Technical skills
- Asphalt mix design and quality control.
- Aggregate and bitumen testing; laboratory equipment operation and calibration.
- Quality management systems, documentation, and test reporting.
- Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
