Position Title

Waiter for DUOMO

Position Summary

The Waiter / Waitress is responsible for delivering an exceptional dining experience by providing attentive, personalised, and professional food and beverage service in accordance with The Dubai EDITION luxury hospitality standards.

The role ensures guests receive outstanding service from arrival to departure while maintaining product knowledge, operational excellence and attention to detail.

The ideal candidate demonstrates genuine hospitality, excellent communication skills and the ability to anticipate guest needs while working efficiently in a fast-paced luxury dining environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • 1. **Guest Service**
  • Welcome guests warmly and create a memorable first impression.
  • Present menus, explain daily specials, promotions and menu recommendations confidently.
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately using the POS system.
  • Serve food and beverages according to EDITION luxury service standards.
  • Ensure all guest requests are handled promptly and professionally.
  • Anticipate guest needs and provide personalised service throughout the dining experience.
  • Handle guest concerns or complaints courteously and escalate when necessary.
  • Build rapport with guests to encourage repeat business and positive guest satisfaction.

1. **Food & Beverage Service

  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of menus, ingredients, allergens, preparation methods and beverage offerings.
  • Recommend food and beverage pairings to enhance the guest experience.
  • Ensure the proper sequence of service is maintained at all times.
  • Monitor tables throughout service to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Clear and reset tables promptly while maintaining cleanliness and presentation.
  • Prepare bills accurately and process payments following hotel procedures.
  • Promote upselling opportunities to maximise restaurant revenue.
  • 1. **Operational Responsibilities**
  • Complete opening, closing, and side duties as assigned.
  • Ensure tables, stations, and service areas remain clean, organised, and fully stocked.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in compliance with HACCP and food safety regulations.
  • Ensure all equipment and operating supplies are properly maintained.
  • Follow cash handling and billing procedures accurately.
  • Report maintenance issues, shortages or guest incidents to supervisors immediately.
  • 1. **Team Collaboration**
  • Work closely with the kitchen, bar, hostess and stewarding teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Support colleagues during busy service periods.
  • Attend daily briefings and departmental training sessions.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all hotel departments.

1. **Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Follow hotel health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Adhere to food hygiene and sanitation standards.
  • Maintain personal grooming and uniform standards according to EDITION brand guidelines.
  • Comply with company policies, fire safety regulations and emergency procedures.
  • Protect guest privacy and maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • A diploma or certification in Hospitality, Hotel Management, Food & Beverage Service or a related field is preferred.
  • Additional hospitality certifications are an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum
  • 2–3 years
  • of experience as a Waiter/Waitress in a luxury hotel, upscale restaurant or fine dining establishment.
  • Previous experience in an international five-star hotel is highly preferred.
  • Experience with luxury lifestyle brands is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent guest service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Additional languages such as Arabic, Russian, French, Mandarin, German or Spanish are an advantage.
  • Professional grooming and presentation.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
  • Knowledge of wines, spirits, cocktails and food pairing is preferred.
  • Ability to multitask under pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Basic mathematical and cash-handling skills.
