Position Summary
The Security Manager is responsible for the overall safety, security, and protection of guests, employees, visitors, contractors, hotel assets and property.
The role ensures the implementation of effective security policies, emergency response procedures, risk management strategies and compliance with local regulations and hotel standards.
The Security Manager leads the Security Department, maintains a secure environment throughout the hotel and works closely with operational departments to prevent security incidents while ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
Security Operations Management
- Manage and supervise all hotel security operations on a 24/7 basis.
- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures and standard operating practices.
- Ensure adequate security coverage for all areas of the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, bars, parking facilities, back-of-house areas and event spaces.
- Conduct regular patrols and inspections to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Monitor security systems, CCTV operations, access control systems, alarms and surveillance equipment.
Risk Assessment & Loss Prevention
- Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability analyses.
- Develop and implement loss prevention strategies to minimize theft, fraud and property damage.
- Investigate incidents involving theft, misconduct, accidents, security breaches or suspicious activities.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain records of all investigations and security-related matters.
Emergency Preparedness & Crisis Management
- Lead emergency response planning and execution.
- Ensure preparedness for fire emergencies, medical incidents, natural disasters, security threats and evacuation procedures.
- Coordinate emergency drills and training programs.
- Act as Incident Commander during emergencies until relieved by senior management or emergency services.
- Liaise with Civil Defence, Police, Ambulance Services and other government authorities when required.
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate Security Officers and Supervisors.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions.
- Ensure all team members maintain professional appearance, discipline and service standards.
- Develop departmental training programs focused on security awareness, emergency response and guest interaction.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with UAE laws, local authority regulations and hotel security standards.
- Support Health & Safety initiatives and workplace safety programs.
- Participate in safety committee meetings and risk management reviews.
- Monitor contractor and vendor compliance with security requirements.
- Ensure confidentiality and protection of guest information and company assets.
Guest & Employee Safety
- Maintain a visible security presence while providing excellent guest service.
- Handle guest complaints and security concerns professionally and discreetly.
- Assist departments in resolving security-related issues.
- Promote a safe and secure working environment for all employees.
Reporting & Administration
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly security reports.
- Analyze incident trends and recommend preventive measures.
- Manage departmental budgets, staffing schedules and security equipment inventories.
- Maintain all security records, licenses, permits and compliance documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Hospitality Management or a related field.
- Valid
SIRA Manager/Supervisor Certification
- is required.
- Professional security certifications are preferred.
- UAE driving license is an advantage.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum
- 8–10 years of progressive experience in hotel security operations
- , with at least
- 3–5 years in a Security Manager position
- within a luxury hotel environment.
- **Previous experience with Marriott International properties is mandatory**
- , preferably within luxury brands such as The Dubai EDITION, The Ritz-Carlton, St.
- Regis, W Hotels or JW Marriott.
- **Valid SIRA Certification (Security Industry Regulatory Agency – Dubai) is mandatory**
- for this role.
- Thorough understanding of
- SIRA regulations, Dubai security compliance requirements and UAE hospitality security standards.
- Strong knowledge of Marriott security standards, brand requirements, emergency response procedures and loss prevention programs.
- Experience managing security operations in luxury hotels with multiple outlets, event spaces, VIP guests and high-profile clientele.
- Proven experience coordinating with local authorities, police, civil defense and emergency services within the UAE.
- Hands-on experience with CCTV systems, access control systems, incident investigations, risk assessments and crisis management.
