Position Summary
The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, comfort and hygiene throughout guest rooms, suites, corridors and assigned public areas.
The role ensures that all accommodation areas reflect the luxury standards of The Dubai EDITION while delivering exceptional service that enhances the overall guest experience.
The Housekeeping Attendant plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for guests through meticulous attention to detail, efficiency, professionalism and adherence to hotel brand standards.
Guest Room Cleaning & Maintenance
- Clean and service guest rooms, suites, bathrooms and assigned areas according to hotel standards and procedures.
- Ensure all guest rooms are maintained in immaculate condition, paying close attention to cleanliness, presentation and guest comfort.
- Change bed linens, make beds, replenish towels, amenities and guest supplies.
- Vacuum, dust, polish and sanitise furniture, fixtures, floors and surfaces.
- Inspect rooms for maintenance issues and report any defects promptly to the Engineering Department.
- Ensure all guest requests are handled promptly and professionally.
Housekeeping Operations
- Maintain housekeeping carts, pantries and storage areas in a clean, organised and fully stocked condition.
- Follow established cleaning schedules, deep-cleaning programs and special project assignments.
- Adhere to departmental productivity standards while maintaining quality expectations.
- Properly use, handle, and store cleaning chemicals, equipment and supplies in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Report lost and found items following hotel procedures.
Guest Service Excellence
- Deliver courteous, professional and personalised service to all guests.
- Respond promptly to guest requests, inquiries and special requirements.
- Respect guest privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Represent the hotel brand through professional grooming, conduct and communication.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Comply with all hotel policies, procedures and brand standards.
- Follow UAE health, hygiene and workplace safety regulations.
- Ensure safe handling of cleaning chemicals and housekeeping equipment.
- Immediately report accidents, hazards, maintenance issues or unsafe conditions.
- Participate in departmental training programs and safety drills.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work collaboratively with fellow Housekeeping Associates, Supervisors, Front Office, Engineering and other departments.
- Attend daily briefings and departmental meetings.
- Maintain effective communication regarding room status, guest requests and operational requirements.
- Support colleagues during peak operational periods when required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Housekeeping certification or hospitality training is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of housekeeping operations and luxury hotel service standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Additional language skills are considered an advantage.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience as a Housekeeping Attendant within a luxury hotel, five-star hotel or internationally recognised hospitality brand.
- Previous experience with Marriott International properties is preferred.
- Experience working in luxury guest room environments with high service standards.
- Knowledge of housekeeping cleaning techniques, chemical handling and guest room presentation standards.
- Familiarity with luxury hospitality service expectations and guest satisfaction requirements.
