Role and organization

Customer journey engineering

• Lead Supplier Journey engineering for onboarding, validation, supplier portal and self-service, inquiries, and payment status.
• Lead Buyer Journey engineering for supplier risk and compliance, invoice and payment controls, duplicate and fraud prevention, and Assurance & Recovery.
• Own shared supplier-buyer workflow moments and ensure agent experiences are built into workflows using shared Data & Intelligence components.
• Partner with AI & Data on shared data, models, scores, workflow data quality, and production and audit standards.

Delivery and engineering excellence

• Build persistent teams that own outcomes and participate in product discovery and solution shaping.
• Deliver predictably and at high quality; address delivery issues at their root.
• Improve code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, secure development, and practical AI-assisted development.
• Track DORA measures, defect escape rates, and incident trends; ensure production ownership, on-call, incident response, and root-cause follow-through.
• Contribute to architecture standards and manage technical debt.

Leadership and management

• Lead engineering leads, managers, and senior engineers across both journey teams; design team boundaries and hire or promote leaders.
• Partner with the India GCC so distributed engineers work as full team members under consistent practices.
• Own US engineering hiring, development, career paths, retention, and technical career tracks.
• Own team engineering budgets and report delivery, quality, reliability, and team health to the CPTO.
• Advise executives on capacity, delivery risk, technical debt, and investment; represent engineering to clients and partners.

Required experience

• 15+ years in software engineering, including 7+ years leading organizations of 50+ engineers through managers and directors in enterprise SaaS.
• Successful delivery of complex B2B products, including integration-heavy, data-intensive enterprise workflows at scale.
• Experience in empowered product teams and partnership with Product and Design in discovery and delivery.
• Technical depth in cloud-native SaaS, distributed systems, integrations, and data-intensive platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, observability, DevSecOps, AI-assisted development, and production AI or agent workflows.
• Experience hiring and retaining engineering leaders, leading distributed US/India teams, and operating in regulated security and compliance environments.
• Executive presence to represent engineering to senior executives, clients, and potentially the Board.

Preferred experience

• Procure-to-pay, accounts payable, supplier management, payment fraud prevention, risk, or fintech experience.
• ERP integration experience with systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Experience in a private-equity-backed or high-growth SaaS company, connecting engineering investment to revenue and margin.

First-year priorities

• Organize persistent engineering teams around Supplier Journey and Buyer Journey and appoint or hire their engineering leads.
• Agree first-year outcome goals and engineering plans with Product and Design leaders.
• Agree on use of shared data and agent building blocks and deliver at least one agent experience to production standards.
• Assign a lead team to each shared supplier-buyer moment and deliver a measurable workflow improvement.
• Baseline and improve delivery predictability, DORA measures, defect escape rates, and production incidents.
• Establish production ownership, on-call, runbooks, and service-level objectives with Technology Operations.
• Establish career ladders and a US engineering hiring plan, including a technical track.
