Role overview

Responsibilities

• Assess accuracy, fluency, grammar, spelling, tone, cultural appropriateness, and adherence to prompts.
• Identify meaning errors, mistranslations, register issues, ambiguity, and logical inconsistencies; fact-check claims when needed.
• Write high-quality rewrites and model answers, and rate and compare AI responses for correctness and overall quality.
• Create prompts and gold-standard Telugu answers across general knowledge, customer support, education, and conversational writing.
• Evaluate and rank AI outputs to improve fluency, correctness, tone match, and cultural appropriateness.
• Detect unsafe or misleading content, factual hallucinations, bias, and policy-risk language; validate reliability across use cases.

Candidate profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Linguistics, Telugu or English Literature, Communications, Journalism, Translation, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Native or near-native Telugu proficiency in reading and writing; professional English proficiency of at least C1.
• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in writing, editing, localization, translation, content QA, journalism, education, or related language-focused work.
• Deep knowledge of Telugu grammar, spelling conventions, punctuation, and style, with ability to explain corrections.
• Comfort with formal and informal registers, regional variation such as Andhra Pradesh and Telangana usage, and adapting for India and diaspora audiences.
• High attention to detail in detecting subtle meaning shifts, awkward literal translations, hallucinated claims, and culturally mismatched phrasing.
• Reliable, self-directed work and consistent quality in a remote hourly contractor workflow across time zones.
• Experience with AI data training or annotation, translation QA, editorial QA, or rubric-based evaluation is strongly preferred.
