Laminate and finish produced items to meet quality standards, schedules, and durations, and update information in the tracking system.
Production and finishing
- Finish produced items to meet quality standards and procedures; inspect for defects and make necessary repairs.
- Check item labels and markings against specifications and client requirements.
- Prepare inspection reports for supervisor approval.
- Submit finished items to the Quality Control inspector according to the schedule set by the scheduling department or foreman.
- Receive the required glass kit and raw materials, and ensure resins are mixed correctly.
- Laminate items according to production procedures to ensure uniformity.
- Report daily output status to the assistant foreman and report accidents, problems, mistakes, or non-conformities to a superior.
Health, safety, and environment
- Follow applicable safety, quality, and environmental procedures and instructions.
- Use personal protective equipment and safety gear; keep work areas clean and organized.
- Maintain assigned tools, equipment, and machinery in good working order.
- Report unsafe acts, incidents, or safety violations.
Qualifications and skills
- Technical or high school qualification.
- One to two years of similar relevant experience is preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Knowledge of pipe machines and products, raw materials and hazards, Material Safety Data, and resin mixing/dosage.
- Knowledge of quality standards, visual defects, milled glass preparation and usage, lamination types, and lamination procedures.
- Ability to understand recipes and shop-floor drawings and select the correct resin, catalyst, and delayer mixing ratio.
Communication
Internal communication includes production superiors, the finishing crew leader, and the scheduling department.
