Job purpose
Support local users as directed by the Service Desk.
Support the Operations Department with local projects and local suppliers.
Service request management
- Redirect or escalate local support requests to the Service Desk.
- Provide local technical support for hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Keep users informed of case progress and close resolved incidents.
- Ensure local IT policies and procedures are followed.
Asset deployment
- Deploy PCs and peripherals to users as directed by the Service Desk.
User communication
- Notify users of impending changes and agreed outages.
Training and development
- Maintain knowledge of relevant IT areas and develop required specialist knowledge.
- Increase professional knowledge through technical reading and participation in external technical events.
Communication scope
Internal contacts include local IT users, the IT Operations Manager, and the Operations Team.
External contacts include local suppliers and partners.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- ITIL v3 Foundation certification.
Preferred qualifications and experience
- Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician certification is preferred.
- Service Desk certification is preferred.
- ITIL Intermediate certification is preferred.
- Two years of desktop support experience in a Microsoft Windows environment is preferred.

- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
