Position summary

Maintenance duties

• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication on tools and kitchen and mechanical-room equipment.
• Inspect tools, equipment, and machines; identify and operate equipment and building utility shut-offs.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Communicate shift activities and problems to other shifts using approved procedures.
• Perform basic repairs across air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, and general building systems.
• Prepare surfaces, paint, repair minor drywall and wood trim, replace bulbs and A/C filters, and clean repair areas.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment, plumbing, electrical components, guestroom items, internet devices, and other fixtures.
• Program televisions and perform housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.
• Perform interior and exterior landscaping repairs, including sprinkler work.
• Use basic computer skills to enter air-handler schedules and adjust temperatures.

Safety and service expectations

• Use the Lockout/Tagout system before maintenance work and follow company, safety, and security procedures.
• Report maintenance problems, hazards, accidents, and injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and store flammable materials properly.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and meet quality standards.
• Welcome guests, anticipate and address service needs, and communicate professionally with guests and coworkers.
• Work cooperatively with others and support shared team goals.
• Lift and move objects, use stairs, ramps, and ladders, and bend, reach, and stoop as job duties require.
• Perform other reasonable duties as requested.

Required qualification

• A driver's license is required.

Preferred qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• Some experience in general maintenance and interior or exterior surface preparation and painting is preferred.
• Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance is a plus.
• No supervisory experience is specified.
