Technical Product Owner - HR Technologies

Role purpose

In this role

• Own story content, acceptance criteria, and end-story signoff across team backlogs.
• Prepare backlogs for future PIs, refine them with teams, and prioritize work in alignment with other backlogs.
• Capture and prioritize technical debt and non-functional requirements across sprints.
• Include BAU, ceremony, and spike activities in team backlogs within available capacity.
• Contribute to PI demonstrations with other Product Owners.
• Maintain feature quality and integrity; identify and communicate risks and dependencies to the Product Portfolio backlog.
• Attend and contribute to Product Management meetings, particularly PI Planning.
• Define metrics for prioritized work and propose further BAU iterations based on results and capacity.
• Build the Product Owner community, foster collaboration, and identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
• Contribute to Product Management communities and efficient, empowered team practices.
• Identify team-driven innovation ideas and consolidate them for presentation to the Technical Product Manager community.

Qualifications and experience

• Degree or Honours qualification (12+3 or equivalent).
• At least 5 years of experience in Information Technology or another field.
• Operations Research, Human Resources, Information Systems, or a combination of industry certification and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Global Product (CSPO/SAFe/PSPO) trained and certified.
• At least 3 years of practical Product Owner/Manager experience in a team-facing role, with a record of driving change and delivery.
• Ability to lead and prepare RFPs with external vendors and partners.
• Experience delivering large-scale initiatives aligned with organizational goals and stakeholder expectations.
• Experience in a Scaled Agile framework across multiple initiatives and approximately 50+ teams.
• Demonstrated technical or domain expertise and awareness of relevant regulatory and other changes.
• Well-versed in product management tools for software delivery; strong communication, relationship-building, and customer-centric value focus.
