Senior Technical DevOps Engineer - SRE

Role overview

Cloud, reliability, and delivery

• Lead cloud adoption and migration discovery with architects and security teams and shape cloud engineering architectures.
• Automate change management, resilience, monitoring, capacity planning, and emergency response for assigned products.
• Lead reliability, scalability, and performance for products in Agile release trains and improve continuous deployment value flow.
• Review operational environments, reduce failure, troubleshoot across the infrastructure stack, expand monitoring, and manage technical operations.
• Work with release engineering, product development, and security teams on change strategies, canary deployments, and rollbacks.
• Automate processes, maintain healthy deployment pipelines, and deliver high-quality production-ready designs and code.
• Build, maintain, and operate software development, CI, and CD environments using principles such as 12-factor apps.

Security and operations

• Advise and architect security solutions with engineering and product teams and ensure technologies meet security standards.
• Automate environment, service, infrastructure, and cybersecurity management to support solution maintenance.
• Apply reliability practices to availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning.

Education and experience

• Degree or honours (12+3 or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• At least 5 years of hands-on build automation and CI/CD experience.
• Experience with containers and orchestration, cloud environments, microservices CI/CD, monitoring, and infrastructure automation.

Technologies

• Build and CI/CD ecosystem: Terraform, Git, Groovy, Maven/Gradle, Docker, Nexus, Artifactory, Selenium, and Jenkins.
• Container orchestration: Kubernetes or OpenShift, Helm, and ECR; experience managing and troubleshooting platforms is required.
• Cloud experience in hybrid environments or AWS/Azure; the source lists these as alternatives.
• Monitoring, alerting, and analytics tools include Dynatrace and Splunk.
• Infrastructure configuration and automation tools include Terraform, Puppet, and Ansible.
