About Croesus

Croesus develops wealth-management software, including portfolio management systems, rebalancing tools, and APIs.

The company has offices in Montréal, Toronto, and Geneva and reports more than 200 employees.

Position

Technical lead for the Innovation team, which prototypes uncertain opportunities and tests ideas with customers before handing them off, stopping them, or advancing them.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role, not an engineering-manager role focused primarily on process administration.

The team works on AI-native products as well as platform features and next-generation wealth-management software.

What you will do

  • Own architecture, build-versus-buy decisions, and technical design across AI-native and conventional software.
  • Guide designs, unblock developers and researchers, and contribute code to the hardest problems.
  • Improve the team's development lifecycle using AI and automation across specifications, CI/CD, testing, observability, and tooling.
  • Define agentic development practices and remove manual steps and dependencies; share proven patterns with DevEx.
  • Lead developers and researchers, supporting growth, focus, delivery, feedback, and blocker removal.
  • Shape research experiments so they reach real customers and generate useful learning.
  • Prototype and validate opportunities, then hand off, stop, or advance promising work.

What you will bring

  • Deep, current engineering expertise and experience architecting and shipping substantial systems, with the ability to work directly in code.
  • Comfort with C#/.NET and REST/WebAPI, TypeScript with Angular or React, and Python for AI/ML; depth in most areas and ability to ramp up on others.
  • Experience across microservices, modular monoliths, CQRS, event-driven systems, and clean REST/OpenAPI APIs.
  • AI-native use of LLMs, agent frameworks, coding tools, and evaluations, with sound judgment about model capabilities.
  • A point of view on CI/CD, testing, observability, and developer tools, plus ability or strong motivation to improve team delivery.
  • Leadership to develop a small team, comfort with ambiguity, and ability to make decisions and iterate.
  • Comfort working in a bilingual French-English environment.

Work arrangement

  • The posting describes hybrid work with two office days each week at the Laval and Montréal offices.

Compensation

  • The posting lists annual salary and a corporate profit-sharing plan; it does not state a salary amount.

Benefits

  • Benefits include à la carte vacations, sports program, gym access at the Laval head office, telemedicine, group insurance, group RRSP, training and development, referral bonus, parking, and electric-car charging.
  • The posting also mentions breakfast, a renovated office, and twice-monthly social events.
