Technical Engineer position focused on QS, procurement, and tendering for a building contracting company.
The position is listed in the United Arab Emirates.
Responsibilities
- Prepare quantity take-offs, BOQs, material calculations, cost estimates, and rate analyses.
- Review architectural, structural, and civil drawings, specifications, and BOQs; identify discrepancies and prepare RFIs or clarifications as needed.
- Prepare tender documents, quotations, cost summaries, and commercial comparisons.
- Handle subcontractor and supplier procurement, including RFQs, quotation evaluation, comparison sheets, and scope review.
- Monitor project quantities, costs, variations, additional works, and subcontractor payment applications.
- Draft and review subcontract agreements, contractual correspondence, and commercial documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers, site teams, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and authorities on technical and commercial matters.
- Maintain records of drawings, BOQs, quotations, contracts, payments, variations, NOCs, and project correspondence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Construction company experience in QS, estimation, procurement, tendering, or technical office work; five years of construction-industry experience is required.
- Strong understanding of drawings, BOQs, specifications, construction materials, and quantity calculations.
- Good knowledge of subcontractor and supplier quotations, variations, payments, and commercial documentation.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and MS Office; PlanSwift or similar take-off software is an advantage.
- Strong numerical, analytical, organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
