Role overview

Technical leadership and quality

• Act as senior technical authority for electrical building services and lead design reviews, challenging assumptions and resolving technical interfaces.
• Oversee power distribution, lighting, emergency power, earthing, lightning protection, and applicable ELV and life-safety interfaces.
• Ensure coordinated, buildable, efficient designs meet the client brief, codes, authority requirements, sustainability objectives, and WSP quality procedures.
• Promote practical, innovative, digitally enabled solutions that improve project quality and outcomes.

Project and stakeholder leadership

• Provide technical leadership during project mobilisation, design development, coordination, delivery, and close-out as required.
• Work with the client, project management team, architects, engineers, specialist consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Resolve technical issues, provide credible recommendations, and represent WSP as a trusted senior technical adviser.
• Monitor technical risks, programme interfaces, design dependencies, and quality, taking corrective action when needed.

People, collaboration, and governance

• Guide and mentor electrical engineers and coordinate specialist input across Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, and WSP's global business.
• Apply project management, quality assurance, health and safety, ethics, and governance requirements consistently.
• Support effective scope, change, risk, and commercial awareness within the project team.

Education and professional registration

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a closely related discipline; a relevant master’s degree is advantageous.
• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional registration with a recognized institution is strongly preferred.

Experience and expertise

• 25+ years of relevant Electrical Building Services experience, including substantial work at leading multidisciplinary engineering or design consultancies.
• Extensive Middle East experience delivering major, complex, high-profile developments.
• Significant Saudi Arabia experience, ideally supporting mega or giga projects, and understanding of the local market, codes, authority requirements, and delivery environment.
• Demonstrable electrical building services expertise, integrated MEP design, multidisciplinary coordination, and project delivery experience.

Leadership and communication

• Proven track record leading electrical and multidisciplinary teams on large-scale, technically complex projects.
• Strong client relationship management, stakeholder engagement, influencing, and negotiation capabilities.
• Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, and interpersonal skills; collaborative and commercially aware approach.
