Role overview
Ensure health and safety policies and procedures are embedded across projects, sites, and office environments in compliance with local and international rules.
HSE project responsibilities
- Support compliance with WSP’s HSEQ Management System and client requirements to protect personnel, assets, and the environment.
- Monitor site HSE arrangements and review contractor plans, risk assessments, and method statements before work starts.
- Conduct inspections and audits, document findings, and follow corrective and preventive actions through closure.
- Coordinate emergency response plans and drills and follow up contractor incident investigations and root cause actions.
- Provide technical guidance, conduct HSE meetings and toolbox talks, and liaise with regulatory authorities.
- Prepare monthly reports on HSE KPIs, incidents, and safety initiatives; promote safety culture and proactive risk management.
- Monitor environmental aspects and impacts against sustainability and environmental management requirements.
- Develop and deliver HSE training and analyze performance trends to recommend improvements.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a relevant subject.
- Relevant health and safety qualifications, including at least the NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC).
- At least 7 years’ experience with infrastructure projects; pumping station and storage tank experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio; excellent communication and influencing ability.
