Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Perform garment alterations, including hemming, shortening, lengthening, tapering, resizing, and repairs.
• Take accurate customer measurements and recommend suitable alterations.
• Alter men's, women's, and children's apparel while maintaining the original garment design.
• Operate sewing machines and other tailoring equipment safely and efficiently.
• Conduct fittings with customers and make necessary adjustments.
• Ensure all alterations are completed within the agreed turnaround time.
• Inspect garments before and after alteration to ensure high-quality workmanship.
• Repair damaged garments, including replacing zippers, buttons, hooks, and repairing seams.
• Press and finish garments before handing them over to customers.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tailoring workstation.
• Keep records of alteration requests and completed jobs.
• Coordinate with the sales team regarding customer alteration requirements.
• Report any garment defects or quality issues to the Store Manager.
• Maintain sufficient stock of tailoring supplies such as threads, needles, buttons, and zippers.
• Follow company policies, health and safety procedures, and quality standards.
• Deliver excellent customer service by addressing customer queries and ensuring satisfaction.

Skills & Competenciestechnical Skills

• Proficiency in garment alterations and repairs.
• Ability to take precise body measurements.
• Skilled in operating industrial sewing machines and pressing equipment.
• Knowledge of different fabrics, stitching techniques, and garment construction.
• Attention to detail and quality finishing.
• Ability to read alteration instructions and garment specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification or training in tailoring or fashion design is an advantage
• Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED2,500.00 per month
