About This Role
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced **Data Development Engineer** to design, develop, and maintain data systems that support **analytics, reporting, and system integrations** across our retail operations.
This technical role focuses on **Microsoft** **SQL Server management, Power BI development, API integrations, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central data systems**.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of delivering accurate, efficient, and secure data solutions for **multi-brand retail operations**.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize **SQL Server databases**, ensuring performance, data integrity, and security.
- Design and develop **Power BI reports and dashboards** for actionable business insights.
- Implement and manage **API integrations** between Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and third-party systems (brands, malls).
- Support and enhance Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central **data structures and reporting capabilities**.
- Build, monitor, and optimize **ETL/ELT data pipelines** to ensure accurate and timely data flow.
- Write and optimize **SQL queries** for extraction, transformation, validation, and analysis.
- Build and maintain **data models** (relationships, measures/DAX, calculated columns).
- Ensure **data quality and accuracy** through validation, cleansing, and reconciliation.
- Analyze **sales, inventory, and retail KPIs** (sell-through, WOS, UPT, ATV, GP) to provide actionable insights.
- Extract and validate data from **Business Central and POS systems**, ensuring accuracy of SKUs, prices, barcodes, and costs.
- Support **cross-functional teams** with reports and analytics requirements.
- Document technical processes, **data models, and integration logic** to ensure knowledge sharing and compliance.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience in **SQL Server** (queries, stored procedures, performance tuning).
- Hands-on experience in **Power BI development** (data modeling, DAX, report optimization).
- Experience with **API integrations** (REST/JSON/XML).
- Knowledge of **Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central** data structures.
- Solid understanding of **relational databases and data warehouse concepts**.
- Ability to **transform raw data into intuitive dashboards and visual stories**.
- Proficient in **data cleaning, validation, and reconciliation**.
- Understanding of **retail KPIs**.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced retail environment.
Preferred / Plus Skills
- Experience with **Python, Power Automate, and Azure tools**.
- Familiarity with **cloud data platforms** (OceanBase, PostgreSQL, etc.).
- Experience with **version control systems** (Git).
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in **Data Science, IT, Computer Science, or similar**.
- **3–6 years of experience** in data development, preferably in **retail operations**.
- Experience with **multi-brand or multi-country retail operations** is a plus.
- Pay: Up to AED12,000.00 per month
