Role Overview
Structural Steel Detailer role preparing accurate and practical drawings for tent, tensile structure, car parking shade, and steel fabrication projects.
The role works closely with engineers, project teams, production, fabrication, and site teams to support fabrication and installation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare steel fabrication, shop, assembly, and related drawings from engineering designs.
- Develop plans, elevations, sections, connection details, and assembly drawings.
- Detail member sizes, plates, bolts, welds, connections, fixing details, cutting lists, and material information.
- Review structural drawings and resolve detailing or fabrication issues with structural engineers.
- Coordinate with production and site teams to ensure drawings are practical for fabrication and installation.
- Revise drawings based on engineering comments, site requirements, and project changes.
- Provide technical clarification and manage multiple drawings within project deadlines.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Steel Detailer, Structural Steel Detailer, or in a similar role is required.
- Strong structural steel fabrication and construction knowledge is required.
- Excellent AutoCAD proficiency is required.
- Ability to read structural and architectural drawings is required.
- Understanding of steel sections, plates, bolts, welding, connections, and fabrication methods is required.
- Experience preparing shop and fabrication drawings is required.
- UAE experience is preferred.
- Experience with tensile structures, tent structures, car parking shades, or steel fabrication is preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Tekla Structures knowledge is an advantage.
- Knowledge of STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RFEM, or similar structural software is an advantage.
- CNC cutting, fabrication, and workshop drawing experience is an advantage.
- A diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Drafting, or a related field is preferred.
Compensation
- Pay starts from AED 3,000 per month.
