Role purpose

Design, implement, operate, and improve secure, resilient, and scalable enterprise voice, video, and collaboration services.

Ensure availability, performance, security, and lifecycle compliance with business requirements, ICT standards, and approved KPIs.

Provide senior technical expertise across hybrid and cloud UC environments.

Core responsibilities

  • Deliver UC architecture, documentation, voice design, troubleshooting, lifecycle management, security, automation, migrations, and disaster recovery.
  • Lead major incident response, carrier/vendor coordination, and technical coaching.
  • Evaluate and integrate cloud UC, contact-centre, smart meeting-room, analytics, and AI-enabled capabilities.
  • Produce HLDs, LLDs, standards, procedures, feasibility studies, tender specifications, and executive reports.
  • Support BOQs, purchase requisitions, lifecycle budgets, investment decisions, and vendor proposal validation.

Experience and technical requirements

  • At least 10 years of progressive enterprise UC experience, including seven years of hands-on work in complex, high-availability environments.
  • Expertise in SIP, SBCs, end-to-end voice troubleshooting, and at least one major UC platform.
  • Strong hands-on Microsoft Teams enterprise voice experience, including Direct Routing and associated calling features.
  • Expert Cisco UC experience with CUCM, CUBE, voice gateways, and enterprise dial plans.
  • Expert SIP/SDP/RTP and packet-level troubleshooting using tools such as Wireshark.
  • Strong Microsoft 365, Entra ID, PowerShell, automation, and working knowledge of Graph API, REST APIs, and Power Automate or equivalents.
  • Strong UC security knowledge and working knowledge of AI-enabled UC governance and controls.
  • Working knowledge of UCaaS, smart meeting rooms, communication analytics, Operator Connect, cloud calling, and related privacy and emergency-calling requirements.
  • Knowledge of real-time networking services including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, firewalls, NAT, and QoS.
  • Business-critical industrial/oil and gas experience is preferred; UCCX or modern cloud contact-centre experience is desirable.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or an equivalent engineering qualification.
